)amide]neodymium(III) - Introduction
Tris[N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide] neodium (III) is a chemical complex with the formula Nd[N(Si(CH3)3)2]3. Its properties are as follows:
-Appearance: White solid
-Melting point: About 300-350 ° C
-Solubility: Soluble in non-polar organic solvents such as benzene and toluene
-Stability: stable in the air, but easy to get wet under moisture
Tris[N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide] neodium (III) is mainly used in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry. It can be used as a reagent for organolithium compounds to react with organometallic compounds. In addition, it can also be used in the preparation of coordination polymers, liquid crystals and oxide materials.
Tris[N,N-bis] neodium (III) can be prepared by the following steps:
1. NdCl3 · 6H2O reacts with trimethylchlorosilane in anhydrous toluene to generate NdCl3(Si(CH3)3)3.
2. The anhydrous toluene was distilled off and recrystallized with a dry non-polar organic solvent to finally obtain Tris[N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide] neodium (III).
For safety information, Tris[N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide] neodium (III) should be stored in a dry place and protected from moisture. Wear protective gloves and eye protection during operation, and take care to avoid inhaling dust or touching skin. Proper laboratory safety practices should be observed during handling or storage.
